Cabs and car rental in Vijayawada, with a driver.

Vijayawada is a junction city in every sense. NH-16 runs through it along the coast, NH-65 heads west towards Hyderabad, and the Krishna cuts across the bottom of the city with the Prakasam Barrage carrying traffic over it. If your trip starts on the far side of the river, the barrage and the Kanaka Durga flyover are the two places where a badly timed departure costs you twenty minutes. Indrakeeladri hill sits in the middle of all of it, with the ghat road climbing to the Kanaka Durga temple, and Benz Circle is where most of the city's traffic eventually meets itself.

Most trips from here go one of three ways. Up the Krishna to Amaravati is the short, pretty one: the river road, Undavalli caves on the way, and the new capital area at the end, comfortably a half-day. East on NH-16 towards Vizag is a long flat coastal haul with good places to break. West on NH-65 towards Hyderabad is the quickest of the three and the one people often take overnight. Gannavaram Airport sits outside the city towards the north-east, so airport pickups are straightforward but want a little buffer. The railway station is the opposite, central and crowded, which is why it helps to name your exit.

Send the pickup point, dates and destination on WhatsApp and we quote one fare for the whole trip before you travel, so the number you agree to is the number you pay.

Local tip — Plan around the river crossings. Anything that takes you over the Prakasam Barrage is easier before the morning build-up and after the evening one, and the same applies to the approach to Indrakeeladri if temple darshan is part of the day. Coming in by train, name your platform exit, because the station is central but crowded and the wrong side means a walk with luggage. Flying into Gannavaram, allow for the distance back into the city; it is not far, but it is not next door either. Amaravati works best as a morning trip, with Undavalli caves and the river road on the way, while Bhavani Island suits a slower afternoon. If Vizag is the plan, start early and treat NH-16 as a full day rather than a dash. In the weeks around Dasara the whole Indrakeeladri side of the city changes character, so either build in extra time or route around it.

What kind of trip in Vijayawada?

Local runs around Vijayawada, an airport pickup, a temple trip or a long outstation drive — same fleet, same drivers, quoted differently. Tell us which on WhatsApp and the fare comes back the same day.

Local hire in Vijayawada

8 hours and 80 km around the city. The driver stays with you rather than dropping and leaving.

  • Kanaka Durga darshan

Up Indrakeeladri and back, with the car waiting at the foot of the hill rather than circling for parking. On festival days the ghat road is slow and the wait is the whole point of booking a car instead of an auto.

  • Gannavaram Airport, either direction

About 20 km east on NH-16 — 25 to 40 minutes depending on the hour. Most of these are early departures or late arrivals, which is exactly when nothing is waiting outside the terminal.

  • A hospital day

Vijayawada is where the surrounding districts come for treatment, and an appointment is rarely one stop. The driver stays through the consultation, the scan and the pharmacy instead of you finding a new ride between each.

  • Amaravati, Undavalli and Mangalagiri

The short runs west across the Krishna — the capital site, the rock-cut caves and the Narasimha temple on the hill. All three fit inside one 8-hour package with time to stop properly at each.

  • Weddings and functions

Guest pickups from the railway station and Bandar Road hotels, and the car on standby between ceremonies. Tell us the muhurtham and the driver plans around it rather than the meter.

What the fare includes

One fare, agreed first

Tolls, driver allowance, state permits and taxes are inside the figure we quote. There is no meter running in Vijayawada traffic and nothing added at the end. A per-km rate that looks lower usually is not, once those arrive separately.

You are booking the operator

Not a marketplace. These are our own cars and our own drivers, who speak Telugu and know Vijayawada. One number reaches the people running the trip — no app, no account, and no advance payment before the car arrives.

Cab routes from Vijayawada

One-way or round trip, each with a fixed fare agreed before you travel. Distances are real road distances, not straight-line estimates.

Cabs and car rental in Vijayawada — FAQs

Is Amaravati a good day trip from Vijayawada?

It is one of the easiest half-days in Andhra. The road follows the Krishna, Undavalli caves are on the way, and at the other end you have the Amareswara Swamy temple and the new capital area. Morning is the time to do it, before the heat builds and before the river crossings back into the city get slow.

Where in Vijayawada can you pick us up?

Vijayawada Railway Station, Gannavaram Airport, Benz Circle and Auto Nagar are the usual points, and we will come to any address in the city. If you are arriving by train, name your platform exit, because the wrong side of that station means a long walk with luggage.

What is the drive from Vijayawada to Vizag like?

A long, flat coastal haul on NH-16 with plenty of sensible places to break. Treat it as a full day rather than a dash, start early, and let the driver pick the halts. Many people drive it one way and add the Araku ghats or the Beach Road at the Vizag end before coming back.

Can you take us up to the Kanaka Durga temple?

Yes. There is a ghat road up Indrakeeladri and we drop you as close as vehicles are being allowed on the day. Around Dasara the entire hill is a different place, so if you are travelling in that window, plan the temple for very early morning and keep the rest of the day loose.

Is there a cab near me in Vijayawada?

You do not need one nearby — the car comes to you. We are not a stand you walk to or a street taxi you flag down: you send an address on WhatsApp and the driver arrives there, anywhere in Vijayawada — including Benz Circle, MG Road, Governorpet and the areas around them. The useful thing to send is a landmark rather than a pin: the gate, the shop below, the temple on the corner. That is how the driver actually finds you, and it is faster than a map reference on a lane that has no name.

How do I tell you where to pick me up in Vijayawada?

A landmark and a phone number is enough. Vijayawada Railway Station, Gannavaram Airport, Benz Circle and similar spots are the ones drivers know without asking — but a home address works the same way, and most of our pickups are doorstep rather than a landmark. If the lane is narrow or the gate is hard to spot, say so when you book and the driver will call as he turns in rather than leaving you to find the car.

Is this a cab service, a taxi, car rental, or car hire?

All of those names describe what we do, and around here the everyday one is "car travels" — it is what most operators in Vijayawada are actually called, and what people say when they mean a car with a driver rather than a self-drive rental. Listings and search results tend to say taxi, car rental or car hire. The important part is what it is not — it is not self-drive, and it is not a metered street taxi. Every car comes with one of our own drivers, so you are hiring the car and the person driving it together, for one fare agreed before the trip rather than a meter that keeps running in traffic.
